Augmented reality is just at its early beginning, but we already can see lot of advertising using this technology, and it’s probably going to be one of the major trends in 2012. This advertising for National Geographic, in an hungarian commercial center is a nice preview of what we can expect.
The concept behind this ad campaign for Mobilia (sweden) is interesting, but can’t be looked at a genius idea. There’s still one thing I really like in this video. It happens 1:13. ”In the end, the people helped us make this campaign successful. Because we gave them a topic of discussion. Instead of just an other ad.”
That’s just what every marketing team is looking for nowadays. Viral campaign and free advertising. Newspaper and social media will take care of spreading advertising. Customer is at the same time the target and the messenger, and forwarding (sharing, liking, twiting…) is now totally normal. We saw something special, we now that it’s probably some advertising campaign, but we still forward it. Even more: we try to guess who’s the brand behind the event… but now, we can wonder how long customer’s curiosity will last. And how long viral advertising will work. As long as there is new idea? Maybe…
New continent, new country… and new website!
Since I moved to Sydney, and since that move is a long term plan, I decide to put an hold on my project “Conception Pourquoi Pas ?”, just focusing on myself. With new project, and a brand new website to. Two main changes to notice:
So… finally it happened. Adobe announced that they will no longer develop flash for mobile, putting an end to a long war with Apple. “HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively” said Danny Winokur, vice president of the Flash Client Platform at Adobe. Instead, Adobe will contribute “more aggressively” to HTML 5. Adobe also remind that they to have AIR, witch can be use to develop natives apps, working on all computers and mobile devices.
As flash programming has been part of my job since the beginning, I had always wonder where all that was going. Flash is spread widely on internet (more than 99% according to Adobe stats) and might still have a long life in front of it. Or not. Technology can rise and disappear quickly on the net.
For the moment, there is nothing about stoping the development of flash on standard computer. But as phone and tablet are growing so fast, while computer growth goes slower, one can wonder how long Adobe will still support flash…
